Very long-time, no-see but I've missed you...

I can't believe so much time has passed! My sophomore year of college flew by in an instant. I really had an amazing school year, but I was certainly very busy with school and fun social events, hence the serious lack of blogging...Do you remember when I went crazy over the fact that I was studying abroad to Italy? Welllll, the time has come. I'm leaving Saturday!! I'm ridiculously excited, and you can definitely bet I went on a crazy shopping spree yesterday to get some outfits :) I have no idea how I will possibly fit a month's worth of clothing/shoes into my suitcases.

I haven't been taking pictures of my outfits (see above for excuse..) but I'm still always saving my inspirations on my computer constantly.

P.S. I watched Alfie the other night and I have to say that I was very impressed with how well styled Jude Law was in this movie! Every suit was perfectly fit and tailored. I'm actually not a big fan of his but after watching this movie, I like him more. Amen to well dressed men.

All of these photos of the ever so lovely Natalie Portman are from the Marie Claire January 2010 issue, and I have to say I absolutely adore them. Miss Portman is my favorite actress of today and I believe she is the modern day Audrey Hepburn (my all-time favorite actress). Her style is always perfectly amazing and her movie roles are fantastic. Her performance in Black Swan simply blew me away. This photo shoot is my favorite of her thus far, so I wanted to share with you how beautiful they are!

Last year's freshman follies

Before I actually launched Hayley Golightly Style, I knew I wanted a blog but really didn't think I had the time. The idea became pretty prominent in my mind during my freshman year of college, but I decided to wait until the summer after my first year. Although I had not started the blog yet, I still managed to take some (very poor quality, very sorry) Mac photos in hopes to get me into the fashion blogger spirit...*fashion blogger spirit* haha I think I like that phrase...Anyways these outfit photos are from last year, my freshman year in college, and you can see the dorm room that I resided in. Of course these are just random outfits that I thought I might take pictures of when my roommates were gone, so they definitely aren't my "Best of Freshman Year" attire. Even though these outfits seem really casual, my fellow classmates thought I was dressing up a lot...So once again please forgive the quality, I'm buying a new camera for Christmas so our eyes will be much happier!

So there you have it! I'm not going to post the details of the outfits because I mainly wanted to post these to look back on them as a piece of freshman nostalgia!

I just drove home from school yesterday, and I love coming home to see all of the lovely Christmas decorations everywhere! I tried decorating my apartment, but a silly wreath and tiny table-top Christmas tree isn't exactly my perfect idea of festive.
It's also very nice to come home and relax, because the last two weeks have consisted of sleepless nights, studying for my final exams, and coffee. Lots and lots of coffee...But I'm on Christmas break now, so fall semester is behind me!
Although these photos have absolutely nothing to do with Christmas, I reallllly love them! Aren't they so adorably whimsical?! This photo spread and narrative is so playful and clever. :)

Viva la Italia!

I meant to post on my birthday (which was the 9th), but I didn't get the chance to so this will be a birthday/amazing announcement/outfit/inspiration post! Mouth-full, huh? I have to say that I absolutely love that my birthday is September 9th, because it always falls within Fashion Week!!! I consider all of the beautiful new fashion to be a gift to me from the fashion industry. Yes, my prior statement was quite delusional, however, a girl can dream! Not only is it fashion week but Fashion's Night Out was this weekend too, and I absolutely love that Vogue (pretty much Anna Wintour) started that fabulous celebration of fashion for the public. Although I unfortunately wasn't able to hop a flight to New York, I defnitely plan on spending my 21st birthday in New York for the entire week of Fashion Week! I just turned 19 so it's pretty far away, but I'm doing it nonetheless. Even though I've been stalking all of the Fashion Night Out photos from various events, I'm most excited for the CBS documentary-style show for FNO! It airs tomorrow so I'll be in front of my TV, living vicariously through everyone on screen...

Oh and my amazing announcement?!?

I"M GOING TO ITALY FOR A MONTH THIS SUMMER! You have no idea how excited I am! I'm studying abroad with my university, and I will be living in Florence! I'll be visiting other cities too like Rome and hopefully Venice and Milan! I've been taking Italian classes so hopefully I will be able to catch onto the language well :) I'm hoping I will eventually be able to speak Italian fluently! Anyways summer is pretty far away as well, but you have to plan really soon for study abroad programs! If anyone has any advice on where to go/what to do in Italy please let me know!

Week 1 Down, Autumn please?

Hello!

I finished the first week of the semester, and it looks like the remaining weeks will be pretty good, too! It's still feverishly scorching outside, so my outfits have been consisting of sandals and shorts! I'm not bogged down with tons of homework just yet so I've been enjoying flipping through all of my September issue magazines :) Can I just say how completely excited I am for the September issue of Vogue?! I'm so ecstatic that the issue is 726 pages! Not only is it quantity, but quality as well. I was getting pretty sad for a while when my fashion magazines were getting so thin, but this change is exactly what I love! This September issue is one of my favorite Vogue issues, I think...These photos below are some of my fall inspirations!

I'm loving the romanticism in Michael Kors' fall campaign ads. The colors are exquisite, and the styling is effortlessly chic. I'm dying to get a pair of those slouchy grey pants!

Like everyone, I'm in awe of the gorgeous J Crew outfits.

Madewell really knows how to make stylish ready to wear clothing pieces. These are the type of outfits I will definitely be wearing around campus. :)

I have to say I don't actually own any Tommy Hilfiger clothing, because the brand has never really done much for me, but after seeing this ad campaign I'm very impressed. These looks are perfect for the upcoming autumn weather! Although I love all of these looks I would probably end up being like the model in the back wearing the trench and sunglasses!

Cinnamon Dolce Latte

This week is my last week of summer until my sophomore year of college begins! Yes, I'm altogether sad to leave summer behind and excited to begin a fabulous (hopefully) new semester but what's the best part? Back to School Shopping!! Although the temperatures in Texas are very much still Summer (100+...), my fashion mind is starting to trail off into the warm fall colors. Don't get me wrong summer is still my favorite season, but I always get excited for a new season of clothing opportunities because I like the variety the cooler weather brings. I'm a massive fan of cardigans, because I'm always cold so I'm dying to break out the tissue thin cotton and cashmere. Fashion is in Fall mode, but now all we are waiting on is for the first Autumn leaf to drop...

So with the new school year in mind, I went on a little shopping spree to help boost my closet into the approaching season. I honestly did not anticipate turning this particular shopping trip into a spree, I was actually just trying to buy a couple things...ha so much for that! So in light of my spending, I wanted to show you some of the things I bought and hopefully you'll see them once again styled in some outfit posts!

*This coming weekend is Tax-Free Weekend in Texas so you better believe I have another shopping excursion planned :)

I had been wanting a pair of tan riding boots for an eternity, but I found it nearly impossible to find some that didn't swallow my little calf but the lovely people at Steve Madden added an extra hole in the buckle strap so they can be buckled tighter :D

This dress was literally a dream when I put it on! It's thin and flowy and the back is a lace-up so I can adjust it to me perfectly! Urban Outfitters

I bought 3 pairs of shorts similar to these at Forever 21. One was khaki while the other 2 were navy (all 3 came with belts)

It's not as easy as I expected to blog while taking summer courses (did I mention they were calculus and speech...). I hate that I keep being so absent from my beloved blog! On the other hand, it's nice that I'm all moved in to my new apartment and the roomies and I are really excited about all of our decorating opportunities! Although I love my nice set-up, I don't have anyone to take outfit photos for the blog so as of now I'll put up some Photo Booth pictures I took a bit ago...I will figure out the photo situation somehow...

Remember how I mentioned I DIY-some shorts in a much earlier post? Well I never showed them to you so I wanted to show a quick everyday outfit I wore while wearing them :) I also think you should know I was inspired to create the shorts because I stumbled upon Le Blog de Sushi's DIY-ed studded shorts, and I thought I absolutely had to make some like that! Anyways this post is pretty much images of me playing with my Photo Booth on my Mac :) Photo Booth is soo fun, don't you agree?

Italian Ice and Spice

So I actually went thrift/flea market shopping once again! (this time in McKinny rather than Canton) I think I'm trying to makeup for all the times in the past I haven't visited...It's going pretty well so far! Last time the shopping was cut short since I arrived too late, however, this time I got there in the morning and had plenty of time! (Which is how I like it since I can't shop quickly, I take too long ;) ) To be honest I'm quite surprised I already have a couple outfit posts showing my hair up, because its a pretty rare occasion to see my hair up. It's really just not my thing. The only reason it's up this time is because, well, it was 101 degrees outside!! I don't know how I look somewhat lively, because it was difficult holding my composure with such heat! Even though it was extremely hot, my dress was breezy which helped plus I bought some goodies so that helped even more!

On a completely non-fashion note, I absolutely love the fun foods they sell at events like this, and I couldn't resist an italian ice! They are one of my favorite treats :)

Life got crazy for me in a short period of time and now I'm moving into my new apartment a month earlier than I anticipated! I've never had to move so quickly! I had to decide yesterday whether or not to move in today for a class and I decided that the class was too important to miss out on! (My new apartment is next to my university, not in Dallas so I'm throwing stuff together to move in and come back for the weekend for the big items!) Anyways that's what's going on right now for me, but I thought I should make a quick post before I pack up my car!

Even though Victoria Beckham has a bad reputation of being moody, cold, or just downright unfriendly, I honestly don't believe it! I think she's misunderstood and all of her interviews I've read seem like she was quite a nice woman; I blame the media for her bad reputation. Her style is truly immaculate. Her style is sophisticated, yet bold and she's one of my biggest inspirations. She's created numerous fashion trends, along with her own fashion line which emphasizes her solid stance in the fashion industry. Although it's not as practical for a college student to strut around in my 5 inch stilettos all the time (however, I would if I could!), I really admire her style. I would compare her to a modern Audrey Hepburn, but her style makes a name for itself. This editorial of her is one of my favorites, and I wanted to share with you the beautiful shots :) I hope you love them as much as me!

A Pretty Belated 4th, but Here Nonetheless!

Happy belated 4th of July!
For all my American readers, I hope everyone had a fun 4th of July weekend! (To my other readers I hope it was still a great weekend ;) ) My weekend was filled with delicious food, fireworks, antique/vintage shopping, sun, and awesome people! It's always such a pleasure to watch fireworks, because I think it's quite amazing that mankind has created exploding artwork in the sky :). To conclude my weekend of Independence I thought it would be fun to exercise my right to do some shopping (of course)! I wanted to change up my shopping excursion routine a bit, so I decided to travel an hour out to Canton, Texas where First Monday Trade Days occurs. It's a cute little country town that holds this gigantic flea market where tons of vendors sell vintage pieces, handmade pieces, and all the crazy stuff in between. So once we got there I thought it looked a little less crowded than usual, but I walked on hoping to make some purchases. Later that hour, however, a nice man informed me that the place actually closes at 3 on that day! Well I got there at 3 so I was a bit frustrated, but I still managed to check out a few vendors before they packed up. I was a little sad I didn't get to eat some of the fair foods they sell, but alas, I've decided to make another trip next month! The trip wasn't a waste by any means, because I still enjoyed myself plus I bought the prettiest vintage leather handbag that is structured so beautifully!

I was wearing my rings most of the day but it got too hot and they bothered my fingers so this is the only photo of me in them! Sorry its not a very good picture!

The lady that owned these had everything in her tent for a dollar but these where a few bucks more! She was pretty hilarious (and soo country I couldn't understand her) but she joked that I should stay away from the wedding dresses since I shouldn't be getting married soon ha :)

That dress is one of my favorite summer dresses and that flower headband ( made of feathers!) was a fun punch of color.

Christmas in July?!

So it's definitely far from snowing or Christmas here in Dallas (it's actually scorching hot and hitting fiery temperatures), but I have a few photos of Christmas from last year and I wanted to share them with you! It was pretty exciting that day, because it was really snowy, despite the fact that I live in Texas! The snow was just about starting in these pictures so it doesn't look like a lot, but the snow just started to fall, plus this is the south so any snow is pretty fun :) Everyone thought I was crazy to be wearing such a short skirt while the weather was freezing but I didn't really care because I thought it would be fun to play in the snow anyways... So here's a bit of a trip down memory lane!

P.S. Even though I'm loving the summer months, after reviewing these pictures it gets me excited for Christmas again! :D

Lace and Cupcake

hello darling readers :)

I've been absolutely terrible with posting as consistently as I want and I must apologize. I also have to admit that I'm very disappointed in the horrendous quality of my camera. Since I didn't have time to do a pretty shoot outside, I resorted to a few indoor shots but without the natural light I really think the photos fall short...so once again sorry about that and I'm hoping that I can somehow invest in a much better camera because I honestly think photo quality is quite important if I'm posting my outfits! So since I took some photos inside this time, I couldn't really make up my mind where the best place to take them so the pictures are a bit sporadic. I also took a few photos of the cupcakes I baked, and while I must admit they aren't the prettiest cupcakes I've made, they are most definitely the tastiest! Strawberry buttercream meringue cupcakes. oh, yes. I bake as often as I can, to be honest. It's one of my favorite things to do :)

So I'm ridiculously sorry for my long blogging absence, but I've been working and I've been so busy (and being sick at the same time but I've been trying to forget about it, ugh)! I kept telling myself I would make my next post an outfit post, but since I've been working all the time I don't really have much creativity with my work clothes. But anyways I truly appreciate all of my wonderful readers and the amazing comments you give me! Your comments always brighten my day :) I also wanted to let you know that I'm now a member of the Independent Fashion Bloggers! Even though I haven't left a post in a while, I promise to make more time, because I hate when I feel like I'm neglecting HGS. I changed the header of my blog too so I hope that's an improvement you all enjoy. Finally I wanted to share with everyone my love for cupcakes and baking! I've heard that fashion bloggers making cupcakes is a stereotype but I promise I've been a cupcake baker way before blogging! Although before I started blogging I would research random things just for fun in the fashion industry, now I feel as though I have an even better motivation to continually learn as much as I can. So of course I love posting my outfits and talking about all the things I love, but I must say that learning about the many aspects of the fashion industry is very personally rewarding. I enjoy discovering new talents and treasuring the established talents. So today I wanted to talk to you about a photographer that I believe has outstanding talent and his photography is wonderfully captivating. His name is Nick Knight and his work is experimental and unconventional in the best way. His work predominantly resides within fashion editorials and advertising so you've most likely seen his work without even knowing! He has won countless awards for his masterpieces and I just wanted to share with you the brilliance of his photos. I think appreciating beauty in photography is one of the best pleasures, no? :)

This last one is my favorite and it's called Speare of Flight. :)

Hello dear readers!
I've been home exactly 1 month today from my first year of college, and I've really been enjoying my summer! The weather is hot, but I like it that way! For the most part I'm being pretty productive and went to my first day of work for my summer job. I'm DIYing some shorts so you will get to see an outfit with those pretty soon. :) Also this post title is a song from The Ready Set if your interested in new music!
So I really love this outfit, because I love the 'knee high socks with really tall wedges' trend and the top might be my favorite in my closet. Some of the pictures don't really do the blouse justice, but it has a lovely pearl beaded collar that is so adorable to me! I got these shoes last week and I'm in love with them! They are ridiculously comfortable and after all day of walking my feet weren't even hurting. I added the nerd glasses in a few photos because I think they can be pretty fun. There's quite a bit of pictures, because I had a lot of fun with this outfit so I hope you enjoy!

I Hope You Dance

Hi lovelies!
So I'm very inspired by dance attire because I've been a dancer since I was six years old and I think it immediately brings an outfit femininity and grace. It's not a stretch to say that the fashion industry is inspired by ballet and dance, as well, because full tutu skirts and leotards make it to the runway quite often. Although I'm a dancer, I think people who aren't dancers can also work this look due to its classy charm. Anyways I'll let all of the images do the talking because I have a ton of dance/fashion photos!

Fashion Movies. Fashion Movies. Fashion Movies!

Hello dear readers!

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while. It's funny how 3 days seems like an eternity in the blogosphere and I've only been blogging for a bit over 2 weeks! I've been quite lazy actually and had a nice Memorial day weekend :). I had been dying to see some films at the video store so I finally decided to rent them! These aren't your average chick flicks and dramas, no no. These movies are sprung from the fashion industry's inspiration. So far out of the three fashion movies I've only watched one, but I'm already in love with it. It followed Anna Wintour around during the September of 2007...Have you heard of it? The September Issue! It was an intriguing glance at the fabulous, scary, and cut-throat world of American Vogue. I've always called The Devil Wears Prada one of my favorite movies, but watching the real thing is absolutely astonishing. I've heard that the fashion magazine industry is going through difficult times lately and many believe the glossy world will become extinct. If that is so, I truly hope its in the very distant future because it's really a fascinating world that many(including me) love. The movie was quite inspirational and I'm so glad I could see a bit about how things run inside the most influential fashion magazine in the US.

Anyways I can ramble all day about how much I loved the movie, but I also rented Valentino The Last Emperor and Coco Before Chanel. I've always been a fan of Valentino's creations so it will be a treat to watch a documentary that spotlights his career and how he lives. Finally I think Coco Before Chanel will be very interesting and I think Audrey Tautou will be lovely in the role. I've done quite a bit of research on Ms. Chanel in the past so hopefully this will add to my knowledge of her :) No outfit post, I'm sorry but I'll put up some images I hope you'll like anyways.

If you love fashion as much as me, I think you'll love these films! I strongly suggest you watch them :)

It sure seemed like Heaven to me!

Yesterday I went to the same vintage/designer resale store that I discussed in an earlier post and snagged a cute pair of wedges (which I'll pair with an outfit for you to see later!) and browsed in there for a while. After shopping for clothes I went down the street to one of the coolest places in Dallas...Half Priced Books! It's literally a Dallas attraction, and this time everything in the store was 20% off! The name of the place says it all, everything is half priced the retail value (some are even more than half off!). Naturally, I pranced on over to the fashion book area and got three books I've been wanting forever. Soon after, I stepped into glossy fashion heaven: the magazine section!! I literally have a magazine obsession so stepping into this area caused me to break down into a flurry of bewilderment and joy. Yes, that may sound over-excited and a bit ridiculous, but I just absolutely love the perfect glossy pages, the beautiful prose, and photography inside. So I left that section with an enormous stack of fashion magazines to add to my already crazy collection :). I then went to the cooking section with my mother and we browsed cooking books! Although I consider myself much more of a baker (cupcakes are my specialty), I've decided I need to expand my culinary horizon! I was positioned in the Italian section, because out of all the cuisine's I should learn, it's definitely that one since I'm Italian, after all.

Yesterday was ridiculously hot and the sun was so bright (you'll notice that in my photos below I'm squinting my eyes)! On scorching days like that it definitely reminds me that Summer in Texas is practically here. The title is the first line of "In the Summertime" by Mungo Jerry and puts me in the mood to lounge by the pool and forget my worries. :) I don't know any of his other music, but I heard this song in the bike riding scene in the Wedding Crashers movie and now I feel like it's a summer classic.
So because I couldn't really stand to be outside too long, I picked up a friend and drove over to do some shopping! This time I was being a stylist though, because I had to put my shopping desires aside to help him pick some shirts out. Although I didn't buy anything, I truly love shopping for other people. I've been helping my mom shop for quite some time and a lot of my friends ask me to come with them as a fashion consultant! I'm just going to call myself an unofficial stylist, until I become one, of course :).

Sometimes I can spend hours upon hours searching the internet for fashion inspiration and on one lucky occasion I came across a girl with immaculate style. All of her outfits fit together seamlessly, however, she was never boring. After vigorously searching for more images of this wonderful fashionista, I've learned that she is an editor at Russia's Harper's Bazaar. Ms. Miroslava has been seen on the Sartorialist and numerous other fashion websites and she has been acknowledged as an "It Girl" for her fabulous taste in fashion. I have many style inspirations, and I definitely rank her as one of my favorites! Everyone always talks about how adorable and young she looks and that's somewhat comforting, because I've been told the same thing due to my young look! Sometimes I have conflicting thoughts about whether or not I want to look young, but its always nice to see someone so successful who looks young, too. I have many pictures of her outfits, but hopefully I pulled some of her best to show you!

Also, sorry I didn't put up an outfit post! I recently got a new job and I'm going to talk with my new employer today so hopefully I'll have outfit pictures to post tomorrow!

I absolutely love this editorial from Glamour's March 2010 issue! This is actually my favorite Glamour issue to date, because I found myself loving every single page (Victoria Beckham is on the cover and her photoshoot was amazing!!). This spread is whimsical, romantic, girly, chic, playful, and gorgeous. Although it's more of a spring issue rather than a summer issue, I'm definitely still inspired by it for the summer season. The clothing is beautifully feminine and sweet. I love all the varieties of emotions in these photos, as well; it looks like the perfect world. :)

The title is so relatable, because don't we all love new clothes?

Dancing in Zac Posen

Yesterday I visited some thrift stores in Dallas I've never visited and luckily I found one that I really love! I already visit the area pretty frequently because my favorite shopping mall is there but I was completely stunned, because I've never even noticed the wonderful gem before. The place was quite big for a resale store and it had a fabulous selection, which can sometimes be hard to come by in places of that sort. After hours of fun in there, I hopped on over to my best friend I like to call Northpark Mall :) I go there all the time because it has everything from Urban Outfitters to Oscar de la Renta to Neimans to Forever 21. It's my favorite shopping location in Dallas!

I've worn this snap dress before, but this time I wanted to pair it with my favorite black tutu skirt to change up the look! All I did was pull the dress up and folded the gathered fabric over the skirt so it looked more like a dress rather than a skirt/top outfit. There's a lot of smiles in these pictures, because I had a lot of fun shopping all day :). All these photos are taken throughout and around Northpark so I hope you enjoy them!

I put this photo up twice because I wanted to show the picture in its original state and with a higher exposure so you could see the ruffles in the black tutu skirt!

I love how these shoes have a large slit in the front because it elongates the legs very nicely. (great for petite ladies like me!)

Ellen Von Unwerth, You're Quite Amazing

Much of today's society believes that the world of fashion is merely about cute shoes and nice outfits or extravagant make-up, but fashion is much more than the material facade. I believe fashion is as much as a work of art as any painting or sculpture in an art gallery or museum. Honestly, how can you not consider fashion art when the beautiful pieces are enhancing and promoting happiness amongst those who wear it? Fashion is everywhere because, well, fashion is inspired by the beauties of life. :)

So because fashion is multi-faceted, I wanted to share some photography from one of my favorite photographers! Although she is well known for her risque photography, I think she is someone who truly knows how to portray playful femininity in a way that makes women appear not only sexy but mysteriously beautiful. Much of her photography includes lingerie, but I've never thought that was in any way vulgar. When your underwear is beautiful, it gives you an extra boost of confidence and after all who doesn't love wearing beautiful little garments?

I have nearly a million of her photos in my inspiration folders, but I'll try to keep them to a minimum (no worries, though, I'll post them sporadically throughout HGS in other posts!) I absolutely love her work, and I hope you can appreciate it, too! :) Enjoy!

My first outfit post :)

Yesterday was a beautiful day, but I was so busy! I ran errands all day and also visited a friend who was at the hospital for surgery (luckily everything went smoothly!).
Since I'm new to blogging I also didn't realize how much time it takes to shoot great photos outside, but thanks to my lovely mother I think we shot a few good ones :). Anyways it's my first outfit post so by no means do I think I'm very good at it yet! I also think I need a new camera soon, because I don't think my digital camera from way back when is making the cut. Based on many of the blogs I've read it seems many bloggers like the Nikon D40? I'll continue to do camera research, but If you have any suggestions please let me know :)
Here's my first outfit photo shoot! I got to shoot next to a pretty lake and ducks (aren't the ducks cute?!) I love how summery this outfit is :) Since the outfit isn't very fitted I think it gives my petite/thin frame more substance, as well. I think brown, gold, and white are colors that complement each other very nicely. I hope you enjoy!

So the organizing of my things is so far not really that successful, but I'm determined I will have it done by the end of the week! So let's forget about that and talk about what I really want to gush about!

So earlier this year I was browsing style.com and decided I wanted to look at some designers I wasn't familiar with, and I'm sooo glad I did because I stumbled upon Naeem Khan! I first looked through his Spring 2010 ready to wear collection, and I instantly became impressed. The collection was youthful and fun yet elegant and had a certain "look at me I'm ridiculously fabulous" look to it. I found it to be very Blair Waldorf-esque (which I adore). Numerous bows adorned many of the pieces, and I found myself stunned at the beautiful colors within the collection such as golds, magentas, and deep purples. I love jewel tones and the collection didn't disappoint! I truly hope this designer reaches the heights he deserves, because I really see a lot of talent and creativity in his creations. Luckily Eva Longoria Parker donned this wonderful designer recently at the Cannes Film Festival, because I truly hope others will get a chance to see the beauty in his designs!

Here's Mrs. Eva at Cannes, and I think she looks absolutely gorgeous. The train adds elegant drama, and I love that the dress seems nearly see through. Very glamorous!

This gown is very glamour-boho, and once again I love how the dress has a sheer component as it adds an elegant yet sexy appearance. The design on the sheer fabric reminds me of bursting stars, and the embellishments on the chest add the perfect bold dimension I think the dress needs!

I'm going to honestly say I'm not the biggest fan of purple but this jewel-toned purple seems to have a royal look about it and it brings me to be a lover of purple. When I saw this outfit I immediately thought of Aladdin, which is always a good thing because the fashions within that Disney classic are very Vogue, if I say so myself. I'm obsessed with bows so of course that bow at the hip is stunning!

Out of all the looks within this collection I think this one is the most youthful and vivacious! The bubbled skirt is so flirty and the gold designed top complements the purple perfectly. The jewelry is paired very well too as it adds a slight rocker-vibe to keep the girly-ness in check. I would see myself wearing this often...

This screams the Hamptons to me! I love the color white (it looks wonderful on my skin tone, and it is so crisp and stylish!) and this outfit is very classic with a bohemian twist. The trouser looks so sleek!

When I saw this I thought of Charlotte York (from Sex and the City) if she decided to look feminine/rocker. I love how this look is super feminine but the details at the chest give it an edge.

This is one of my favorites! The gold is so luxurious and the silhouette adds a punchy young vibe. The dress has pockets as well and that's alwayss a bonus in my book! Gorgeous.

I adore the bubbled hem and the bow at the hip! I'm a sucker for feminine looks. But of course Naeem Khan knows balance and knew to add the black and white to tame the sweetness.

If you didn't already know about Naeem Khan I hope I introduced you to his beautiful creations and if you're already a fan, I hope I did him some justice!

Hello again!

Ever since I moved back home for the summer the things I brought back from college have been looking more and more chaotic and unorganized as they lay on the floor (or any surface I throw them on)...It also seems that I shop way more as a college student, because I shop when I'm stressed which leads to an ever growing closet! Normally I'm content with my walk-in closet in my bedroom, but now I'm converting the bedroom next to mine into a closet, too. The room isn't very closet-like right now, but I am excited that I have a standing rack to hang my dresses! I'm hoping I can decorate the room so it looks semi-presentable and eventually I'll give it a fabulous luxurious look a la Carrie Bradshaw. Even though technically the room will still have a bed in it and constitute as a guest bedroom, I'm still trying to pretend I'm like Carrie Bradshaw with a fabulous closet from Mr. Big. I know it seems I'm blabbering on about closets, but I think every fashion lover understands the importance of a great closet. So normally I plan on having outfit posts but seeing as how I'm organizing my closet all day, my outfit isn't ready for Hayley Golightly Style today.

Hello darlings!

I've been wanting to create my own blog for the longest time and finally today I've launched the first post of Hayley Golightly Style! This blog will basically be a fashion/personal style/lifestyle/things i love kind of blog. I hope to inspire others as well as learn a few things along the way.
